I got called this morning...by a ghost number. :S

I got woken up by my phone ringing this morning, by a number I didn't recognize. So I decided to answer it.

"Hello?" I asked.

No one answered, then they hung up.

I was a bit ****ed off that someone had woken me with a prank call. So I called them back to be greeted with;

"The number you have dialed has not been recognized, please try again...."

It's got me a bit spooked. The average person wouldn't have a ghost number right? :confused:

Could be that the number that called you does not accept incoming calls?

could be from a call centre or something where the internal numbers show as coming from a central number and that number has been cancelled/changed but it would be unusual to have that message rather than "the number you are calling has been changed to"

How many times did you try calling it back. I've had it happen where I try to call a number and it says it's not recognised, tried again and it works.

I didn't misdial it, I called it directly from my call list;

I'm sorry about the image, I don't know how to flip it in iPhoto.

The number 07822 904431 was allocated to the Opera Telecom network provider, on the 01/2007.

They run a lot of promotions via SMS/phone (for people like GMTV, ITV etc) so I suspect this was probably something like an automated marketing call or something that didn't work.
