Crysis Warhead - Gone Gold

So many games gone gold in so little time!

Busy autumn for us all methinks.

I enjoyed the original crysis but I have a thing for heavily scripted linear shooters - I'll give the demo a go and see exactly how well it plays on my machine - it ran well enough on my old rig and now I've got a new one this optimized engine should (hopefully!) fly on near enough max settings.

Anybody got any ideas on when we might be seeing a demo?

Overall i liked crysis but to me the worst part had to be the alien ship, they made that out to be some kind of big deal "zero g batles". Really it was just a water level with no water and nothing more.

There won't be a demo AFAIK.

The only time my PC struggled to run crysis was the final battle, I had to turn a few things down to get it to run. (q6600 8800 GTS 320)

Personally, I think it would benefit their sales it these "optimisations" made there way the the first Crysis prior to the release of Warhead. People are taking anything they say with a bucket of salt right now with regards to performance, but thats their own fault for misleading people saying things like it'll run better on a slower quad than faster dual, etc, etc (we all know the stuff by now).

So if these optimisations actually exist, and the engine is running so much better (hell, even slightly better), it would really work in their favour to release them as a patch to the original Crysis now.

I will probably get it on release either way as I like running around the jungle, but I am not holding myh breath for performance optimisations - when the only improvement I really want from the game is better ATI/Crossfire performance...

Im pretty sure Cevat Yerli (Crytek guy) hinted that they were going to try and patch it into the original, heres hoping they do :).
