All New Summer 2008 Transfer Merry Go Round/Rumour Mill

Whats the primary reason for selling Alonso ?

Hes a good player. Without seeing every second of his performances, am I missing something?

Gutierrez is fantastic, I would be he leaves Newcastle after either one or two seasons for bigger monies!

Spurs are apparently interested in Borriello. Seems like a good move since he's probably quite a way down the AC Milan pecking order now that Shevchenko is back and Patto has had a year to mature.

Refer me all you like, fact still stands that what i have seen of him has been **** :)

Add the fact the it was Liverpool and Everton that were the only teams after him only validates my point

Fact still stands that he's a much better player than when he played at City.

If anything that invalidates your point, as Moyes have bought some very good players to Everton and also we're usually the only one going for a player.

To be fair, Curbs has been pretty unlucky with his signings. Dyer, Faubert, Bellamy, Ljunberg were all big players but got injured pretty seriously. Even Parker, Upson and Ashton are constantly injured. On their day WH are a really good side but having all these players out will ruin any managers season.

I completely understand being an Arsenal supporter. Injuries seem to rule us over the last few years

Not that I am stiring but none of those points are facts, they are opinions, and everyones opinion differs slightly ;)

To be fair though, Everton are getting desperate for some signings. Moyes was chasing Alan Smith for weeks on end so is hardly infallible. I really hope that Rierra is great for us, just seems like more of the same though.

He's a fantastic passer when given time and space but his attitude and workrate sucks. He won't track back and he very rarely looks to make a tackle.

I used to love him but I want shot now. Much rather have a weaker player that gives 100% every time he plays.

barry nonsense ended last week mate, we all know we're not getting him, would have loved him to come in and alonso to go though. Much harder worker, better suited to league etc

Love the way everyone's an expert on Riera when i doubt they've seen him play 2 games since he left City. He was pretty average at City but he's supposed to have improved since then so as Anderson say's, lets wait and see for ourselves how good he is.

As for the fee, from what i understand it's around £8m up front and around £2m in add-ons.

It's not bad luck though on Arsenal's part, Wenger buys crocks, it's bad judgement, not bad luck.

What a load of rubbish. How was Wenger to know about Eduardo's injury. Rosicky has nearly 70 international caps, thats not a sign of someone who is always injured. RvP made over 30 apps in his last season in Holland, and 40+ in his first Arsenal season.

Whether the injuries are the fault of Arsenal is another matter, it's certainly not the players that have been purchased.

It has ended so many times that I just fear it will come back again and again.

Rosicky has been injury-ridden all his career. Bischoff has played like 2 games or something due to injury. Silvestre has been injured on and off for the last few years. Nasri has already been injured twice in about a month.
