Keyboard Locked Out

My sister’s computer was hanging on manufacture (MSI K8N Neo) splash screen and wouldn’t allow access to the BIOS using the del key. I decided to wipe the CMOS which has now got me to the usual POST screen but I'm now getting an error:-

Keyboard error or no keyboard present.
Keyboard is locked out - Unlock the key

Anyone see this problem before? I'm sure I have but I can't remember what I done to fix it

I'm beginning to think it might be a dead motherboard, which is going to be a major pain

EDIT: Will it be possible to flash the BIOS even though I can't get past the post screen?

If your using a USB keyboard try out a PS2 one could help

It could also be a problem with the PS2 port, so if you are using one try using a USB one.

I've tried a USB keyboard (that I know works) with and without a PS2 adapter plug. It makes no difference. Would it be best to try a true PS2 keyboard.
