Q:Can I transfer my Rock Band DLC to Rock Band 2?
A:Yes, all of you DLC will transfer.

Q:Will Rock Band 1 DLC continue after release of Rock Band 2?
A:There is no "Rock Band 1" DLC or "Rock Band 2 DLC", all DLC is cross-compatible.

Q:Can I transfer my Rock Band 1 disc songs to Rock Band 2?
A:Yes, Harmonix has said "most" Rock Band 1 disc songs will transfer over. We are not sure what songs will not transfer over. This will have a small fee of $5.00 or less.

Q:Will Rock Band 2 drums have double bass pedals?
A:Yes, Rock Band 2 stock drums will have ports in the back, supporting double bass pedals. This is optional.

Q:Will Rock Band 2 drums have cymbals?
A:Yes, along with the double bass pedal port, cymbal ports will be on the Rock Band 2 stock drums. These cymbals are made by Mad Catz, and are officially liscened. They will be avalible for $15 each as well as $30 for three. These are optional. (Price is not official)

Q:Will the cymbals work on the Rock Band 1 stock drums?
A:No.

Q:What are other improvements on the Rock Band 2 stock drums?
A:The bass pedal will be reinforced with metal, and the drums feature velocity-sensitive pads, and will be wireless.

Q:Will there be a Rock Band 2 bundle?
A:Harmonix's Sean has stated that he has no knowledge of a bundle avalible at release date. He has said there will be standalone instruments at launch.

Q:Are there any improvements on the guitar?
A:Yes, the guitar features a new sunburst look, less "mushy" strumbar, and quiter fret buttons. It will also have a microphne to calibrate lag on your TV.

Q:Are there any improvements on the mic?
A:None that we know of.

Q:How much is Rock Band 2?
A:No official price as of yet.

Q:What is the release date for Rock Band 2?
A:The XBox 360 version of Rock Band 2 will be released in September 2008, while the rest of the versions will be released later in the year.

Q:What consoles will Rock Band 2 be released on?
A:XBOX 360, PS3, Wii, and PS2.

Q:Will PS2/Wii Rock Band 2 have DLC and other features that 360/PS3 versions have?
A:We don't know yet.

this answered part my question im hope GH:wt works for rockband2, i did not like the RB1 guitar at all so i will be buying GH:WT and their instruments


All peripherals on the 360 have to work with other games. It's a thing MS enforce.

Ive given up waiting for this ages ago, the game is supposed to be out 19th September but no sign of the instruments yet. Im going to get GHWT instead, its £150 and includes 2 guitars and is out November (including the game), seems better value than the rockband kit and supposed to be better quality. Plus you can use all the GHWT stuff with Rock Band 2 on the PS3, so i will import RB2 game from the US if there is a big delay.

Where are you getting the GHWT price from, everywhere I've seen it's priced higher than rockband was at launch. Certainly higher in the states right now.

Honestly I'd wait to see what the rock band new instruments are. They have raised the bar and the third party stuff by madcatz will almostly certainly be the way to go.

Not a bad deal then. The only thing I dont like the look of is the drums but I guess I can sell those.

Will pre-order later :)

Watching the vid the only thing I don't like is the slide notes.

I can't because it's on a competitor that was mentioned above as a pre-order place that does free delivery. In the game section when you go to the preorder it has a preview video and it shows the new guitar and drums.

The drums don't look great and the slide note sections really don't look like they add anything other than making you need a new guitar.

The vid is on one of the big sites so wont be hard to find.

I figure I will buy it for £150 with the two new guitars, flog my old Les pauls for £50-60 for the pair and maybe the drum kit if I dont like it for £50. Therefore game and two new guitars for £50 ish probably less.

Did I actually say that it was a rip off? :o

I think it was because I hadn't had a proper Guitar Hero/Rock Band experience at the time. Now im fully addicted and can't wait for the next installments. Although I have never played the drums still as I never got round to getting the Band in a Box.

Anyone know if the RB1 instruments are going to be compatible with GH:WT and RB2?
