EVO 6 RS

Ive somehow got it in my head that I want one of these.

Was there ever an Evo that was better than this version ?

Most opinions are that the RS is a much more capable car, but too harsh for everday use compared to the GSR..

Any opinions ?

Better in what way? The rs sprint is better in that it is much rarer, and generally cooler.

evo 5 and 6 looked very "caricature", if you know what i mean. the 7 was too sensible imo, like it had gone too normal.

id consider selling an organ for a nice 4

4 is deffo my favourite. I think i'd feel a little cheated if I got one though, being that the dash is literally identical to my colt.

RS or the GT are the ones to have if you are looking for mental power in the future as the diffs and gearboxes are much stronger. Very capable car It is not worth paying loads for a 360 bhp version though as an exhaust and remap will give you the extra ponies for much less $$$

The original question was really about performance/reliability.

Ive heard a few people say that the 6 was quicker round tracks/roads than the later ones. Well if this is true, then surely the RS must be mental as it has no frills and is much lighter, or does the lack of AYC inhibit things?

The closest car to this I can see is an 03/04 Impreza STI Spec C, which is a beast. However, at £13K+ there are other options at that pricerange.

The Evo 6 RS just seems hardcore, which is what I want. Dont need electric windows, dont want anything that will make it heavier.

If you get a fresh 6RS import, they're not much cheaper £10.5k-11k, check out http://www.japaneseimportspecialists.co.uk/stocklist/japcars.html even the ones that have been in the UK for a while are pricey because they're generally bought for track days or sprinting & thus have removed the junk steel wheels, tiny brakes for a decent setup.

You dont fancy a 66k 99T with 360hp do you?? Mine'll be up for sale in a few months Mine's a GSR tho.
