Which of plasma or LCD HDTVs have more potential to develop screen burn when gaming?

Kinda forced to go LCD due to using it as a PC monitor and I doubt you can get small Full HD Plasmas (what is the smallest Full HD plasma?)...

ps3ud0

42" is smallest 1080 plasma I know. But yea, as a PC monitor/TV the LCD would be the sensible choice

What did you guys get in the end?

The Panasonic 42PZ80B arrives tomorrow, (and had a free 5 yr guarantee). I think I want my movie watching experience to be ...darker... since I watch a lot of sci-fi / horror / action films. I dislike washed out blacks you get on the LCDs and a dynamic contrast ratio of 1000000:1 works for me.

I still dont know the first thing about the optimal way to set it up, but that's tomorrow's adventure! (or waste of a day...) :D

I have a 50" Samsung plasma and image retention isb't an issue for me so far, even playing games for a couple of hours at a time.

As for black levels, they are so much better over my last LCD.

Had the Samsung A556 blacks are better than the LCD but still quite poor, Pioneer 5090 much blacker. Samsung had IR for a few seconds whilst swapping discs on my Oppo 983 (Oppo logo is a bright white)

After only a few seconds? Blimey that's bad.

I watched the Wigan v Chelsea game on Setanta yesterday, so for 45 mins had the Setanta logo in the top right and I didn't notice any IR at all.

I guess its more likley when the panel is new and its more residual charge and excitation in the plasma cell rather than any long term burn issues.

Saw a 65" panasonic at Costco yesterday, I want  :p

I have only had it for about a week though. The only slight hint of IR I noticed was after playing Euro 2008 on the 360 for a couple of hours. It' gone now though.

the PZ8* Viera range are phenomenal for the money, anyone currently buying a set would be nuts to consider any LCD over these.

24fps (4:4 pulldown), 1080p native, 30k contrast and you can find the 50" model for £1100 with 5yr guarantee .....no brainer??? yes
