What did you guys get in the end?
Had the Samsung A556 blacks are better than the LCD but still quite poor, Pioneer 5090 much blacker. Samsung had IR for a few seconds whilst swapping discs on my Oppo 983 (Oppo logo is a bright white)
I guess its more likley when the panel is new and its more residual charge and excitation in the plasma cell rather than any long term burn issues.
Saw a 65" panasonic at Costco yesterday, I want![]()

The 42px80 is considerd a fantastic value 1080p plasma screen
The px80 is a 720p screen. The px85 is the 1080p version.
the PZ8* Viera range are phenomenal for the money, anyone currently buying a set would be nuts to consider any LCD over these.
24fps (4:4 pulldown), 1080p native, 30k contrast and you can find the 50" model for £1100
