Overclocker's 'Primo Basic' ASUS case - It has a strange duct to the CPU? (IMAGES)

I was working on 'Primo Basic' case last night - http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=FS-037-OK

I noticed on the side panel there was a grill, which had an odd looking duct inside which seemed to end in a funnel/tube leading towards where the heatsink fan is... (It's a couple of cm short of heat sink fan itself)

Is this a new idea so you can put a duct/pipe leading straight from the side of the case to the CPU fan, so air is drawn in from mainly outside the case for it?

Wonder why they don't just put a plastic sheath over this so you can make it shorter/longer to make it reach to the CPU fan?

It looks like something could be fitted that could be slotted on fitted to length then turned and locked into position?

They usualy do have an outer tube, which you can adjust to your desired length. At least all the ones i have do. I would'nt say it was a new idea, i bought a case about 4 years ago which came with one installed, first thing i do is throw them in the bin and fit a fan. :D

well if it says it in the specs of the case then yeah. If it's got that in replace of a fan i would rather have the fan.
But if you can fit a fan in that sleave, your singing. Direct airflow for your CPU:)

It's meantions in the manual to adjust it if it interferes with the CPU fan? So it implies it should be there? I didn't get it though :(

Turns out the case does come with the duct/tube as standard, but OC leave them out to help airflow...

They offered to send me it though... :)
