Hey guys, my motherboard broke (One of the fans fell of the mobo lol) so I've bought a new one and i'm about to reformat and install windows.

However before I do that I need to know how to backup Firefox settings (preferably favoruites and passwords etc), Itunes (My iPhone is synced i'd like all my apps there etc I paid for) and my Outlook contact list as it has around 200 contacts and their mobile numbers that syncs with my iPhone.

Help needed quickly please as i'm sick without a pc, ta.

To backup Firefox (bookmarks, cookies etc), try FEBE from here
You can export your Outlook contacts to a comma separated values file (CSV), here's a quick guide
Will leave it to someboby else to give the Itunes advice :)

for the iphone apps, although i don't own one i would imagine it's the same as for itunes store bought music.
with music you can just copy it to an external HDD and when you put it bakc on your new install, put it in the correct folder, then import it back into the 'new' itunes on the new m/b it should ask you if you want to authorise jusy hit yes and enter your current username, apssword for itunes store.

found this on apple

I'm sorry I should have been more clear.

I can't do all these things as my PC is broke and now the motherboard is different, so I cant loads windows hence go into the program and export the contacts or add that to my firefox because it won't run.

I have the HDD attached to my brothers computer, I can still access all the files etc on it, is there anyway I could extract the things I need?

Ok, for Firefox & Thunderbird give this a go:

Copy the Profiles Folder & profiles.ini file from the following:

C:\Users\*(Useraccontname)*\AppData\Roaming\Mozilla\Firefox
C:\Users\*(Useraccontname)*\AppData\Roaming\Thunderbird

* Note the Above Links are for Vista, let me know if your running XP and I will try to remember the links.

should be able to just overwrite the ones from a default install of TB or FF on the new install at the same locations, rename the old ones just in case.

For iTunes you'll need all your files and the iTunes library file - that should be in the iTunes folder in My Music :)

Assuming you've not got your contacts in a seperate personal address book for outlook you can just navigate to where your Outlook.ost is stored and copy that out. If you're not sure search if you used a personal address book just search for *.PAB and copy any out as well.

On XP the files are stored somewhere like this from the top of my head

C:\Documents and Settings\User Name\Local Settings\Application Data\Microsoft\Outlook
