Q6600 with 680i @ 3.5Ghz

Try quad core threaded Prime as I fairly sure orthos is only for dual's unless you run two copies of it simultaniously (spelling?).

If it passes prime with all four cores on blend for 8-12hrs... then WINN

That aint much of a stability test, run prime95 for 8 hours on small ftts then get back ;)

Being the one that actually did the overclocking, that's the most stable clock ive ever gotten on that board but you are right, it probably needs more testing.

Nice results...when i had my EVGA 680i, it was absolutely crap for overlocking a quad, couldn't get it stable past 2.7 and it was even a A1 board and it would fail prime within 1 min. Worst board i ever had.

Orthos only stresses two cores tho, try using the latest Prime95.

Hi guys, i'll post some more pics of the stability tests and yes ill do prime for 8 hours..

It hasnt crashed yet and i played Mass Effect allll sweet night long...

iwould be impressed if there was a little less of the z0r!!!1111one
nobody actually speaks like that

I see you were using large FFTs, small FFTs are the way to go for determining quick CPU stability. If its not stable it should crash within minutes.

Also.. You wont believe this hahaha.. My rig got 17500 *ish* on 3d mark.. when im at home ill post all the reports here.. but im going to try 3.7 GHZ first.. i wanna bust this 680i's ass coz its a **** motherboard that needs to be broken through overclocking.

I hate it with a passion, its caused me pain upon pain. never buy a 680i ..

And umm, *laughs*.. i actually bought the ATI Radeon HD 4870 X2, so i'll also post my scores on that puppy.. I am aiming for 20k on 3dmark.. i guess we'll see.. i get it friday so stay stuned haha

I have my G0 Q6600 on an EVGA mobo @ 3.6ghz stable

I have pencil voltmodded it though & it requires tons of volts to OC & runs stupidly hot..

fortunately it is on a rig i can afford to lose if (when) it eventually fails....

I think its lottery if you get a good 680i. So many bad reports in the past.
