Could that be any more emo?

emo isnt just a music genre.

Yes, yes it is. The fashion is irrelevant. You can blame things like Kerrang and NME for making it more than just a music genre. In the end, what clothes he wears is completely irrelevant he's still going to be a massive **** in a crappy metal band. Nothing more.

Oli went out with someone I knew and Curtis (guitarist) went out with a friend of mine back in like '04 and they ended up turning the girls on each other, lol.

But back to the music, the new video is pretty good and the song has quite matured since the last stuff, still not my cup of tea. At the end of the day though their music for most of the fans is just a subsidy for DropDead merch and the loving of Oli Sykes.

It is more than a music genre, now every town is full of silly little emo kids. Its not nme and kerrangs fault, its people like this. All the kids try and look and act like this idiot, making it more than a music genre.

"Emo kids". Are you even aware of what you're saying? Popular culture is awash with ways in which we will label people in order to catagorize them into some kind of small package and many major music publications take advantage of this, using music as the tool to allow for this to happen.

**** what these people say. Music is music. Calling people after a genre of music just because they are a fan of a specific style of music (and take note here, the bands that people call "emo" these days, are nothing like emo bands) is completely ridiculous. The day we let fashion dictate what kind of music someone listens too, or what kind of music you should be making, is the day that the industry becomes yet another production line, just in the same way pop music has become.

And yes, it IS music magazines fault. These "emo kids" would not be dressing a certain way, or having their tastes molded by them if these publications did not force it upon them.

Running a music website myself, I'm not against the categorization of bands, or putting bands in genres. It makes my job distinctly easier. But when we start using genres of music to label the way people dress, or a style of fashion, it just descends into a complete farce.

I cant be bothered to argue.

The more I listen to The Comedown the more I like, its fast its heavy, but then it is cool to hate them anyway.

I think its cooler to realise that they are, in fact, actual ***** and most hate is justified. They make terrible music, imo and I quite like metal.
