I always had this picture that the Viper was always absolutely awful at anything other than a straight line. Seems not :)

Well I imagine they are probably a lot more hairly on the limit compared to an Evo, but if you can keep it under control it's a flyer. :D

how can you say thats a "road car" it looks like its been through a halfords sale, and has more "race" parts than most of the other "production" cars on the list.

Because it's a production model. Loads of stuff on the road looks like it's crashed into Hellfrauds, at least this has a reason for it....

.....the more 'race' parts statement? Explain? It's a supercar, not a saloon car. It's no more 'race' than the Corvette, Koenigsegg, Pagani, Ferrari, etc.

In fact, the Viper is quite less 'race', in terms of technology and equipment, than the others on the list!

How come this has a 8.4L V10 and the Nissan GTR has a 3.8L BiTurbo V6... yet they both have similar 0-60 times??

Does the Viper weigh a lot more??

funny, i dont see many ferrari's with huge stuck on wings that look like theyre off a JGTC car.

Different techs play a lot of parts in the 0-60 as well. :)

'cause Ferraris don't need them, it's all down to engineering at the end of the day. The shape of the Viper probably doesn't lend it's self to sticking to the road well without wings etc.

Wasn't the last yank mobile that claimed to have got round the ring in an amazing time discredited due to use of race tyres and a few non production mods or was that debunked ?

Doesn’t look like a road car to me, looks like it belongs on a track and I bet its being set up for the track, is there any proof everything is normal?

Hi there

I was always under the impression Vipers don't handle, now do they or don't they?

Has this car had some amazing suspension trickery or has it simply been tuned to extract another 100BHP, which to be frank tuning the 8.3l engine in the Vipers is easy and they go far higher than 600BHP.

So why is this Viper so quick, have they reduced weight, messed with the suspension?

My who reason for never buying a Viper is I was lead to believe they handle very poorly, cant put the power down they have and you will most likely die in one.....

So have I been mislead about Viper, I am asking simply because well one could be a great replacement to the Mustang as similar power, but lots more with tuning, but handling wise I always suspected them to be a lot worse than the Stang or certainly a lot more of a handful....

Does a normal Viper only weigh in at 3400lbs or has this version had massive weight reducement thrown in?

If you look around you can get 2007-2008 for around 35-40k which if they handle seems good value...
