Two must see Warhammer Online Vids...

I'm not sure why they do that either, I do what I do in FPS, run and jump around the target :p. Most war skills only hit targets directly in front, so running and strafing do pay off.
The class i'm going for retail (WH) also gets damage bonus for attacking from behind on certain attacks, and also has some positional and reactionary attacks (i.e. disarms + damage if used after enemy parries).
I guess in these vids people haven't really played the classes and just record as they mouse click the taskbar buttons.

Thats good to know :)

Can't wait to try it out

You should read the post before saying dumb stuff... The animations are all being reworked. THIS IS A BETA :o
On the other hand, i think it is best for the community if people thinking like you don't touch the game :p cya!

There is no need to get all upset fanboy.

If you cant handle peoples opinions, what are you doing on a forum?

I really do wish everyone would stop with the WoW WoW WoW WoW WoW thing, MMOs existed for almost 10 years before WoW came along.

As I have said before, WoWs interface is almost an exact copy of AC2s interface. So if you want to say the WAR interface is the same as something, it would be AC2s, not WoW.

Not necessarily applied to you Teki, but I really do think some people think that WoW started the genre instead of coming along 10 years after the start of the genre.

No offence, but for 80% of the MMO population now, WoW did start the genre. So that is why everything now and in the future will be "is it better then WoW"

Those people have a weird way of thinking then, I could understand if 80% of people had WoW as their first MMO, but for them to actually think that WoW did start the genre just because its their first MMO is a rather odd way of thinking.

Do these people think that the first book they read started literature? Or that the first movie they saw started cinema? Maybe these people watch Battlestar Galactica and think it started sci-fi :)

Do a survey, its pretty easy to find out.

It does sound crazy, but all the games prior to WoW are "small fry" in player base comparison. People don't remember the actor of Golem from lord of the rings, they just remember Golem ;)

it was Andy Sirkis

so your saying Star Wars Galaxies was small fry ? rof !!

Hehe, must admit, I knew it was andy serkis too :) , but only because he was in about 7 films all of a sudden at that time :)

But you're right, it does indeed sound crazy, probably because it is crazy. The game that started a genre is a fact, its not an opinion, its an undeniable fact. That people can believe that WoW started the genre just because its the one they played is quite an incredible ignorance of the facts.

Its such a shame though, if more people were into online gaming when UO came out then a lot of people could have seen what the best mmo ever (imo) was like, and be comparing MMOs since to that instead of WoW.

In player base comparison. Like i said. Its good to read.

**at the time SWG had the largest player base of its genre**

but your talking about a game that ripped off all previous MMo's and making out its the best thing since sliced bread due to 'player base' , its a subjective arguement and and so in respect if SWG had not changed as dramatically as it did its player base would (in comparison) still beat everything else hands down .. plus it was a better game

It was meant as an expression, i didn't need you to google it for me.

I relised you tried using that as an expression i just happened to know the actor. Amazingly some people on these forums have random crap knowlodge remembering a few actors names just happens to be some of mine. No google required :D

Why people get so defensive over a point i was trying to make which was pretty damn clear.

WoW's average player base is 12-18 year olds. Now almost all of them will not have heard of UO or SWG, played it or experienced it. So when they compare a new game to a old game in regards to MMO's they'll compare WoW, its the largest MMO ever made, so there bound to do it.

I'm not arguing symantics with you, just try to understand the point im making rather then dragging this into another direction.

I can believe that, hell a recent survey showed that a large percentage of them didnt know who winston churchill was. Some even thought it was a made up name because "churchill is an insurance company" ...pfft. :)

Just because people use the WoW comparison doesn’t mean they think WoW was the first MMO, if it’s the only MMO they’ve played then they are naturally going to use it as a comparison as it’s the only thing they can compare it to.

There are one or two people getting a bit defensive about WAR it seems. Personally I’m not trying to **** off the game, I’m genuinely interested in it and will most likely be making a purchase, I’m just questioning one or two things I’ve seen as I’ve not been fortunate to be in the beta so its great to hear from people who have and to see if the concerns I have are warranted.

Oh, and I knew it was Andy Sirkis as well. :p
