Looking to buy a 24" monitor and GPU. I have the above at present and would like to know what most people think is a good upgrade on the GPU. Needs to be not too expensive and at least twice as fast really. Any ideas? Not too keen on ATI.

Im not grumpy at all, its just ridiculous posting another thread about:

"What am i going to do for an upgrade, help me, i cant be arsed to read the forum"

Even Stevie Wonder could read these forums and make a decision on a upgrade. If not he could ask Ray Charles to put up another arse wiping thread for him ;)

You are not grumpy, simply an arse.:)

Yeh says the man with 2700 posts on a forum about overclocking who cant figure out what graphics card to get.

"Hello me Kettle, hi this is Mr Pot, just giving you a quick call about your colour"

Rex-Kramer is just fed up with onslaught of mindless zombies taking over the Internet. Don't take it personally. It's his way of giving the middle finger at society for bringing up a generation of retards. :D

I honestly think it's gay (shoot me for using that word) when people criticise people for not reading through all the threads the offender supposes they should...

In my view, people have a right to come to a forum, pose a question, and seek an honest answer. Why should they have to trawl through pages of unobjecitve opinion when they can get the answers they seek by asking a direct question? I really shouldn't have to write this, but some nerd will say that the opinions given in this topic will not be objective either. Well, if that's how you feel, learn to crawl out of pedantry.

At the OP - if you are dead-set on nVidia (I like to look at each card individually, but I can understand software preference), then the GTX280 is your boy. You state you want to buy a 24" monitor, so that's a given. I'm out of touch with the monitor scene, but I know you can pick up some great screens at bargain prices now. For £500, you can get 2 great pieces of hardware! :)
