With seedings you hardly ever get a group of death. Man U, Arsenal, Liverpool and Chelsea should all easily qualify.

Marseille were given Liverpools group because the only other group left had lyon in it, cant have 2 teams from the same nation in the first group phase

No there wasn't. Roma weren't the last, neither were the other team. I can't quite figure it out as there wouldn't have been country clashes either.

Not sure about Roma (something to do with tv rights) but Marseille had to be drawn with us as the only other available group had Lyon in it.
