Ordered Theory Test dvd on the 21st Aug, Got it on 23rd, did 7 practice tests, took test today and nailed it first time.

Ive never driven a car before, infact my first lesson wont be until i call up tomorrow to book one.

No wonder there are so many plebs on the road. You'd have to be mentally challenged to not get it first time.

It seems pointless to me. Even people with absolutely no common sense can just learn the majority of the answers parrot fashion from a DVD and pass it...

I'd argue that only the Hazard Perception part serves any useful purpose :)

Also I'm upset that the OP passed, as his/her title says 'Thaught' and not "Thought"...which suggests that they may be lacking in some sense...or it's a genuine typo. :)

genuine typo :P high on suger at the moment!! after having a large mcd's shake!

Yeah practical will be more of a challenge although in all honesty i will be dissapointed with myself if i dont get that first time also, not had a single lesson yet but plan to have my first practical test are 20 hours or less if i feel confident enough.

Being a good driver is down to skill and confidence (practical) more than knowledge, you need basic knowledge obviously but it's common sense 99% of the time.
Theres so many unskilled morons or people with no confidence in their right foot it's unbelieveable.

I had a fair few practices, mainly with hazard, but I passed it first time.

I just booked the theory, then bought the disk the next day and used it most days.

A guy at work has taken.......

8 theory tests so far(and counting), and failed every one! He reads highway code all the time, and uses the disks too!

People generally show off about passing the practical first time, not theory ;) Thats dead easy. Practical might be a little harder you find ;)

I did both... :p I ROCK !

I did my theory before i had a lesson, i didnt want the wait holding me up when i was ready for the practical. I thought to myself if I cant pass in 2 years (how long the theory lasts) maybe driving aint for me.

I did my theory with no practice and after a night out, im amazed that some of my mates have managed to fail it, even the hazard perception is just common sense.

I did my car and bike test within 10 minutes of each other. Did the car test first, got 100% and then got most of the same questions in the bike test. Couldn't have been much easier tbh :p

I did my theory test a few months ago, it is fairly easy, but if I hadn't read a chunk of the highway code the night before, I might have failed.

The hazard perception test was a worry for me as it was never made clear to me if it asks for when you notice something or when you notice and make a decision.

Hazzard Perception is imho the only decent part of the test, problem is though it doesnt matter how good your reactions are or how quickly you notice things if your faster than the machine you still loose.

Just seems that a bulk of the test is really geared towards <20 year olds, for me it just seemed way to easy considering the destruction and damage a car can cause.
