Who takes games seriously?

when I was kid I built a box from my TV so I though I colud get a better experience from playing Elite on my old BBc computer:D I have tried those 3d glasses that you got with the voodoo2 cards which gave some eye strain but would love to see a proper VR- images displayed onto your retinas for the best 3d experience.

I've got a G25 and love using it but I don't have any special chairs or setups. But found this yesterday on the tube:

I want ^.^

Bit of a long video so if you skip first 2-3 mins unless you want to see the wii being played then you will see the good stuff.

I suspect it was said in jest but there actually is a guy with a converted 747 cockpit in his garage just for playing microsoft flight sim and I know of an il-2 player who has built a replica BF109 cockpit in his bedroom !

I used to use 3d shutterglasses which were superb! The only reason I can't use them now is that I have an LCD screen.
I take my games very seriously. Everything has to be simulated to perfection. In driving games, I don't want to be able to fly around corners in a hot hatch at 200mph. I want real traction and real physics. Real clutch control, real everything. I'm even thinking of getting one of those vests so that I can feel the bullets in an fps.

Have you heard of those absolute nutters over on the SubSim forums who do 1x patrols in Silent Hunter 3? By that I mean they do not ever engage time acceleration and play the game in real time from the get go. Bearing in mind the average North Sea patrol would be a couple of weeks at the very least you get some idea of the dedication*.

*Dedication meaning mentalness in this case.

Used to with CS:S, got way too serious but now play TF2 and enjoy is loads and thats with playing in leaques etc as well. We are ranked at 14 in the uk the last time I checked.
Games are fun and thats how it should be, no FPS Doug antics from me any more lol

Even though I'd never use it, I WANT!

I've currently got a Saitek X52 HOTAS control system for flight sims, alongside a set of Saitek Pro-Flight Rudder Pedals. I'd like Track IR Pro head tracking device as well, but that's way down on the list of my financial priorities right now. But playing Lock On Modern Aircombat flying either the MiG-29 or the SU-27 and using the AA-11 Archer helmet sighted air-air missile with TrackIR would be awesome.

I have a 360 degree 9 lcd projector display with a electric servo motion seat and force feedback stick/rudder controls with accurate replication and movement of aircraft instruments, along with a VOIP simulated UHF/VHF radio system.

Hang on, that's my workplace...

haha :)

i strap dynamite on my chest everytime im terrorist in css.
if im ct then i just shoot 1 of my mates

true true :) get those hot dogs and duct tape out ;)

as far as i go i have a joystick for BF2 and shout "GET SOME!" at the screen every so often :p apart from that its just surround sound and turning off the lights for scary games

I've bought TrackIR 4, a Driving Force Pro and I'll be running 3x22" screens by Christmas. I'd say they come under 'general gaming geekery' though rather than outlandish niche peripherals.

My brother used to do that with every race "Live" as such. He even did a full lenght race in Indy 500 and clipped a back marker on the lastlap and totalled his car.

Myself.. I have let guild drama get into real life (fell out witha freind over some loot he ninja'd just to annoy me "as a joke"). Does that count?
