Ah Crap. Had the old ticker racing there for a second. HL2 is for me the greatest FPS I've ever played. I loved everything about that game and must've clocked it at least 20 times. Really hope they make a 3rd.

I never rated the Doom 3 engine. Everything looked too 'shiny' and games that used it felt sluggish.

It did. Unless you're playing the Orange Box on consoles which got a graphical upgrade.

But you're right they do upgrade the engine as they go. One of the biggest features being HDR.

Whilst not being the most high-tech engine at the moment, I still feel that source is still very pretty, especially in Ep2 and TF2.

They'll just use all the art assets and maybe a small upgrade to Source for Ep3. I'm hoping to see a seriously improved Source and much higher resolution textures for HL3.

I have never played any game that had better Physics regarding interaction with moveable objects than HL2

(just take a weapon and shoot a barrel or something in different positions etc...it's amazing !)

So either I'm Missing something or People are talking ****

Yes the havok physics in HL2 are very good. But they can be buggy, especially in MP. While not perfect they are still good today.

the only thing holding back the source engine IMO is the floor textures dont look that great, i am still looking forward to Left 4 Dead even though it has recycled props .

Is it just me that doesn't really care about the graphics/physics so much as the plot and gameplay?
