EA are the lose. for access to "open" beta You pay £10 more and have to download it. Scum.

£10 is a month of game time not 2 weeks. Beta my ass.

It isn't an open beta if you have to pay and pre order the game, it shows they have no faith in the product. Why not fully open like other good MMOs have been. And to then make you buy it from them for £10 more is the final straw. I will be giving this a month at least before I buy it after the Conan disaster. I am hardcore anyway, don't need no head start or free items.

With regards to the Open Beta anyone having problems downloading it last night the downloader got to about 35% then just kept coming up with conn probs, it wasnt my connection because i could still download stuff elsewhere and browse the internet. Any thoughts ?

and for those that are kicking up a fuss about the open beta moaning about why should we pay an extra 10quid for it. well if you dont like it dont pay simple ;) but you have to keep in mind they didnt have to offer the open beta to the public at all in the form of preorders. that or you could have saved a lot of hassle and just preordered the CE edition but then that would have cost you more money :D
 
Dont forget, everything in open beta gets wiped. If you dont feel its worth your £10, then dont spend it, you're not losing out on anything as it all gets wiped anyway.
 
adsta same problem woke up this moring and mine had connection problems at 36 percent. Restarted it and it continued downloading from that spot.
 
If you want to order from EA, look on the web for discount codes. I found one which gave me 10% off. Not a huge amount but got the price down to 35.99
 
owell at least it wasnt just my conn then, i left it on this morning so letting it run during the day. I hope it downloaded when i get hope :)
 
OH noes! I've installed it.

But when I try to run it asks me to login, no big deal I do that, but it's not patching :(

Just standing there saying starting product patch for the last 11 tries :(

Darn you fate! I want to play!!
 
Nothing, once you run it it simply asks you to login, then it tries to patch it.

I think the patch it's looking for might be the open-beta one. We might not recieve it till the 7th September.

But I could be wrong.

ye open doesnt start till the 7th, before that war-europe will have the links to make an account with them to enter your keys. People will leave links in here, so no worries.
 
Is there a list of retailers selling the standard edition anywhere? I don't care about open beta I just want to pre-order as cheap as poss.

Well theirs 2 differant etail sites, one is selling for £27 and the other for £30 but the one selling for £30 you get 3 days early access and 2 in game items so i guess its what you want.

google "warhammer online £26.98" for the cheapest one.
 
I really cant wait for open beta :) why start it on a damm sunday though......
Might magically become ill on the 8th :p

I’m a bit confused, I don’t really care about the open beta but I would like the early access and extra items, but I cant find who is doing this.

Are you able to advise which retailer is doing this for £30? I thought it was okay to mention these retailers on here as OcUK don’t sell games?
 
Well my boss just told me I have to start using up this years vaccation because I havnt used any yet.

Non of my mates have any time to take off and I dont fancy travelling on my tod (I do enough of that with work), so I am considering taking some time off for the headstart/first week.

I know this is way too far down the road to sad geekyness but unless I find something else to do with my enforced vaccation then it could happen.
