That the OP's quote is nonsense and means even less to those who are supposed to draw some worth from it. Sorry if that wasn't clear.

I don't see how it's nonsense, Maybe a little soppy.

But basically.

Coming together is a beginning... Yep

Keeping together is progress...Yep

Working together is Success...Yep

Doesn't seem nonsense to me. Again, Maybe a little soppy.

Most of the motivating speeches i have heard are followed after drivel that is never delivered.

I just do my job couldnt care what other people have to say. The post Gilly made pretty much sum it up for me lol never heard that before though.

My badly made point was that this is not motivational, it's a quote from an figure head who has almost certainly got nothing to do with the people who this is aimed at motivating. I'm not disputing what Ford said was correct; it is, that's obvious to anyone. What I take umbrage at is that these words alone are supposed to somehow make everyone motivated.

If the motivator thinks a cliched ... um ... cliche, will motivate his workforce then his issues are even greater than having an unmotivated workforce.

Good choice, I'm also quite fond of "Our Deepest Fear" as penned by Marianne Williamson if you ignore the religious overtones. It was used in Coach Carter albeit slightly amended.

“Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous? Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small does not serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won't feel insecure around you. We are all meant to shine, as children do. We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us. It's not just in some of us; it's in everyone. And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others.”.

That is new to me. Thanks for that, genuinely.

I go to work to earn money, the only thing that would motivate me is a payrise, otherwise It's minimum effort for minimum pay.

and before it's mentioned, yes I've done the sucking up bs and it's bs, hard work gets you nowhere, it's who you know that earns you promotion.
