I currently have a 8800 320mb card and am upgrading to a 9800GX2.

Could you guys give me your opinions of the card. Hopefully someone with one would be nice.

I know they have a heat problem apparently but can this be helped with increasing fan speed and such? Or new fan?

THanks

I upgraded from my old 8800 GTS 640Mb and i'm very happy with my card. Yes it runs a tad hot and i haven't tweaked the card speedwise or the fan......bedroom will be nice and cosy in the winter :D

What temp does it run at then? Any suggested drivers for it? How much did you pay for yours if you dont mind me asking?

I'm using it on Vista 64 (175.16) & XP Pro (the last official release) need to do a fresh install on my new Samsung F1 HD will probably go with XP again.
I paid top dollar for mine when they were first released £400+ oh well.

Crysis turns the rear of my PC into a hair dryer, quite warm and toasty :P

Thanks. I paid £120 plus my 8800. I hope I made the right choice.

Its a fast card when sli works properly. At your native res will probably be faster than a gtx280 so enjoy the card. Its only let down is its 512mb memory but should not be a problem for you.

Which games? Will it still be better than my 8800 320mb?
should be better than that card, just not always double the performance, but atm, most games do have have fairly good sli scaling (40%+) just a small few don't. an example is quake wars, at less than 2560x1600 sli actually lowers fps and creates a small bottleneck

Thats ok. I dont even have that game and I am sure that future games shouldnt be a problem.
