Program to slow down audio files?

Does anyone know of a (FREE) audio program that can slow down or speed up the audio file it's playing?

My friend has recorded a few hours of lectures onto an mp3 and i'd like to type these up, but it'd be much easier to do if I could slow the talking down a bit so I can get the typing 100% perfect first time and not have to go back and correct any mistakes I might make.
