Samsung Omnia I900 owners thread.

For owners of the Omnia, im currently using an LG Secret, and like it, my ex has a HTC Diamond and i found the interface and touchscreen horrible touse, the software was slow and really cheap feeling.

Whats the omnia like? Whats the speed of the software like? I had an iphone previously, can you compare it to the speed the iphone software works? (well, as much as you can do between mac os and windows.)

Had my Omnia for 24 hours now and must admit I wasn't that keen at first but its definitely getting better (latgely thanks to this thread) now that I know how it works and how to tweak the way it looks.

i think it was just a bit weird at first coming from an N73. it just shows me how basic that is now and how much mobiles have moved on in the last 18 months.

Just trying to work out how to connect to my wireless router for late night bed surfing!

Edit - forgot to add. I bought it on Orange from Mobile Express. Got £50 rebate through Quidco. Unfortunnately its only the 8GB version but plan to buy a memory card once I know how to put films etc on it.

What, to get rid of Vodafone branding ???
What's the best way to hard reset - I can't seem to get Kyro to stay on... It installs ok, but it doesn't start with the phone. I don't see it until I wake the phone up? And I lose it again after pressing end call.

I want to reset and try again ;)

Sorry, but this thread is way too long.

Are these on Contract? Are they even out yet? Where are people getting theres from?

>Are these on Contract?
Yes & No available on Contract with Orange (16GB), O2 (8GB), Vodafone (8GB) and also SIM Free
>Are they even out yet?
As above yes for a few weeks
>Where are people getting theirs from?
As above, Orange On-Line and Shops generally have stock, as do Play.com SIM Free but Singapore Import.

Yeah that was me - I noticed your post on the Voafone forums - presumed that was what was holding it up.

Your best bet is to ring the number on that thread - It goes through to what is essentially Vodafone after sales care. Straight through, no holding or waiting.

Took less than 2 minutes to check where my order was. They are quicker than the admins on the forum.

Hmmm, weird. When i ordered mine on the 26th, i heard nothing untill the next day, where i received an e-mail requesting for proof of ID / Address. Then i had to wait another 24hours for that to be processed!. Maybe because its my first contract, who knows.

Ordered on the 28th over the phone and recieved a text today:

'This is to confirm your Vodafone order has now been dispatched for delivery on Monday 01/09 between 08:00 and 18:00.....'

:cool::)

If you mean the one Rob L posted, ill try give that a ring first thing tomorrow.

i done it through the samsung settings and hard hard reset when my shell didn't come off right. worked a treat and doesn't delete the storage.

Does everyone's Omnia connect to GPRS when it starts up?

And does anyone know a way to make it stop doing this without disabling the GPRS etc completely?

I saw the hard reset function on the phone but how are you supposed to input the '12345' confirmation code - there is no input option... I assumed this was a bug?

I reset mine in the end by switching off, pressing down call and end call and holding down the on/off button for 5 seconds. It completely formatted the phone ;)

£90.00 from Vodafone tracked on 30/08/2008

wahoooo that was well worth making a quidco account for !

is there any good modding guides anywhere for this phone yet ? or a good forum for it ?

wow - 9am a knock on the door.

My Omnia is here :D

Currently charging. This is one sexy handset

Sent via next day recorded delivery. I didn't expect this untill Monday :D

Turns out i have been sent a used phone - the plastic front cover is scratched from per-stylus use. Theres a small scratch on the bottom left silver part (hard to see, but it's there)

Thanks vodafone!
