Hi Guys,

Hoping someone can help me as Im looking to order today to get the free delivery.

Anyone know if the Corsair HX 1000W fits into the the first (STC-T01) Coolermaster Stacker?

Its 200mm long while my present PSU is 175mm - unfortunately the case is all boxed up and I cant get to it to double check myself. Im hoping someone has upgraded to the same setup and can confirm.

If the worst came to the worst, couldn't you just remove the pop-rivets holding the back panel of the PSU cage and take it off?

Thats not a bad idea - I presume you just mean drilling through the rivets. Would need to see how it attaches to the roof of the case first though...

Hopefully Ill get a chance this weekend to get at my case to check myself...

Personally, I wouldn't want just screws and a small shelf holding some extendo PSU above my components. Just somehow saw out the panel of the cage that is closest to that 80mm fan and keep the bottom shelf part and side panel?

Then you'd have proper support for the PSU and no length issues.

Removing the back bit doesn't affect the rigidity of the PSU cage. I did the same thing on my Wavemaster a few years back, nothing bad to report.

What about your bottom?
Rather not as the case is on the floor and so would have restricted airflow - also it would mean stretching PSU cables over the motherboard to support optical drives and HDs (at the top of the case).

Will have a think about it over the weekend and see whats what...

hmm i'll check my stacker case as i'm sure it will fit or you might have to have the psu hanging out the back of case a tiny bit

Cheers wod_uk,

That would be brill - I suspect though the PSU cage is 190mm long though - thats as much info as Ive got trawling the Coolermaster forums...

well measuring the cage, a psu with 20cm length will fit, the cage measures approx 21cm

it just depends on how big the connectors are if the psu you are going to buy is modular as a psu with all the cables attached will be fine

looks like it will fit fine as the connections will fit into the psu so not take up much room

did you order the psu or buy another make of psu ?

Thanks wod_uk,

Grateful for the response :). Ill probably triple check mine when Ive actually got it out of the box (meh decorating :/) and hope for the best...

Slightly shelved plans as the upgrade is more want than need - catalyst would be the new E0s turning up really ;)

What do you have out of curiosity? Its wierd having to measure stuff because I just assumed the Stacker of all cases would mean all parts fit. I only just found out that the TRUE wont fit unless I disassemble the 80mm side fan structure...

psu wise its an old antec neopower 480watt psu which is still going strong that i have but will need an upgrade as going to replace the 8600gt with a 4870 and don't think the 480 will power that

luckly i have the windowed side panel on my stacker so i wont have any issues but with the stacker being so massive inside i thought there would be no issues fitting a tuniq or true heatsink are they really that big ?

I read it here

Its meant to be 16cm tall...

Im on a OCZ Powerstream 520W which I thought would be fine for the move to C2Q (E0 Q9550, 8800GTS 512Mb, P5Q, 4Gb RAM etc...) but some think it might be worth upgrading - it is over 3 years old now :p
