A designer at work asked me to look around for a 24inch mointor that could be used with cad effectively i instantly said you need IPS

What are the recommded mointors out there?

Dell2408WFP
&
Hazro 24inch
& HP 24inch

are there any others out there, also what would you recommded

How colour critical does it have to be? If he has no price range you could look at Eizo's, Lacies, NEC's, etc.. But they're a bit much for most people. Does CAD work *really* have to be that colour accurate?

he creates the Hardware for our company and our consumers so needs to be fairly colour critcal. hes very procise with hes colours and getting everything perfect.

but if you could recommded me some from
Very Expensive
Medium
Cheap

be cool

Very expensive:

LCD3090WQXi
The Eizo range

Medium:

HP LP2475w

Cheap:

Nothing if colour critical is a requirement.

With all of the above (that don't come with one) you'll need a calibration device.

Awesome, fair enough :) Well then;

Very Expensive: LaCie 526, Eizo Colouredge CG241, LaCie 324 - Pretty much anything with the words Eizo or LaCie slapped on it, the clue is largely in the price with these and you'll often know why you're spending that much on one!!
Medium: Dell 2408 (SPVA panel though IIRC), Hazro 24" (S-IPS) + A good calibration device: LaCie Blue Eye Pro
Cheap: Digimate/Yaraku 24" (Both PVA) + A good calibration device: Xrite Eye One

An overall good buy: Hazro 30" - That's a LOT of quality screen space for £850.

So horizontal gamma shift of darkest shades in VA might be unwelcome...
Not much IPS screens in that size.

NEC LCD2690WUXi would be top choise.

(24" NEC IPS isn't available in Europe)

Then there are Hazros,both 24" and 26".
New 24" HP LP2475W and 26" LG W2600HP which seems to be aimed at general use/gaming.

But NEC is only one with internal 12bit LUT and high precision internal processing which means little colour banding problems, also NECs are apparently only one with A-TW filters in LCD panel and have widest viewing angles.

Theres also the HP 2480 which has an internal LUT of 12 bits IIRC, it's also around £2-3000
