PC Dosn't shut down?

This has just started happening, can't think why...

When i click Start > Shut Down

I Dont get the options box appear, just the sand timer, which stays there.

Any ideas.

Probably some bugged process thats stopping it.
Firewall or Anti virus usually. I had trouble with zonealarm before.

Check the event viewer to see what apps and process are running when its trying to shutdown.

What was the last app you installed that could well be the problem.

Last app i installed was ermmm Nokia phone stuff (but has worked before when i installed)

After it hangs for a while, it does come up - not sure how long because i left the room. But then when i click shut down, the blue screen comes up with the mouse still on the screen - which you can move?

It's definitely some problem program or process not shutting down correctly.
How about using system restore to go back to a time when you didn't have the problem, then try and isolate the problem program.

Just uninstall the nokia stuff and test it again. See if it continues.
