" Continuing its quest to keep PC components cool and happy, Scythe has now launched the Kaze Maru case fans. Coming in three versions, the round shaped Kaze Maru fans are 140mm in diameter but can fit in 120mm holders and provide more air flow than 'regular' 120mm models while working at lower speeds. The Kaze Maru fans offered by Scythe are codenamed SY1425SL12L, SY1425SL12M and SY1425SL12H and feature maximum speeds and sound outputs of 500 RPM / 10.80 dBA, 1200 RPM / 26.58 dBA and 1900 RPM / 41.13 dBA respectively.

The new sleeve bearing fans also have a MTBF (mean time before failure) of just 30,000 hours and are bundled with a 3-pin to 4pin adaptor. The Scythe Kaze Maru fans have a recommended price tag of $19.99 / 9.50 Euro (without VAT). "

that confuses me just I didn't think product specs were supposed to sound sarcastic?

A life of just 3.5 years continous use - thats immense!
shouldn't' it say an 'amazing 30,000 hours...' ????

Nice fans though, might pick one of those up!

Why should you care Pneumonic? You've got deltas galore.

well because they are for benching and high clock prime runs... Once I get the most out of the setup i'll go back to 3.2ghz and then some nice quiter 140mm fans will be of more uses! at the moment there isnt a huge range to choose from and well the 1900RPM ones look like they could be 1/2 decent

An update on the airflow...

Airflow: 10.80dBA / 29.39CFM (500rpm version), 26.58dBA / 61.30CFM (1200rpm version), 41.13dBA / 104.54CFM (1900rpm version)

If you were to put one of these fans as a case fan but for a 120mm holder, wouldnt the outer edges of the fan be blowing against a sheet of metal, and wouldnt this cause more turbulence and therefore more high pitched noise?
