OcUK Photo Comp - Season Seven : Round Six - "Odd One Out" DISCUSSION

I only just realise what them things are... how did you get them light swirls? Hung some led light and spun it around from above?

Black room + 13 sec exposure and then use a pen light to paint the 3 lightbulbs before adding some swirls for fun. Have a go, great for when it's wet outside.

Whilst I think that the theme is an excellent idea, I'm struggling to come up with a way to execute it, so this weeked I have ordered a special prop.
Made it!

The duck arrived on the last working day of the month. We are locked into a kite festival all weekend, so the only time to take the picture was in the fading light on Friday evening. The swans did exactly what we had hoped and I think that the picture worked as intended but right after the picture, the duck made a break for freedom and swam out to the middle of the Thames. We had to recruit a barge to help with the rescue, much to the amusement of the local Friday night revellers.

Did you buy a duck just for this shot or was it coincidental? :p

We bought him for the shot, but he has become part of the family now.

He was please to find a puddle to paddle in at Bristol kite festival...

Yes.

But well done for being the only one of us to "find" a picture, rather than set it up.

Andrew

ta :)

That is part of the reason i struggle sometimes with themes, I don't enjoy setting a shot up - so will wonder many different places trying to find something that is how i want it!
