Have you ever won anything substantial on the vanilla National Lottery?

I think this would make a good poll: given how many of us there are here, to see how few (or how many?) people have won something substantial would bring a nice relative gauge to the (un)likelihood.

I haven't :(

Only £10 I think.

But I won over £200 one day on a few Scratchcards when they first came out. I was young and my mum bought me one and she didn't believe that i'd won. :p

Won £170 on the lotto syndicate at my old work - paid for my I Pod Touch :p

Most I've won on the weekly lotto is a tenner - not much granted but it's still £9.00 more than a did initially have :)

Most iv won is £12 summat on the euromillions, which is 92million next week, get your tickets!lol
on normal lotto just won a few tenners.

Nope. Never played, though. Here are the odds. Your chances of winning anything are 1 in 53.66. Play once a week, win £10 once a year. Good luck with that!

Used to play it a few times years ago but not now. Won £10 couple of times. Lottery is tax on the stupid remember ;)

it would be more entertaining to pay a friend to pull mooneys at pensioners in the post office for a quid

Nope.
However a friend of a friend won just under 2million. Got fast cars, went on hollidays got property. Got banned from driving fast cars, got caught driving fast cars while banned. Got into debt and had to sell up and go back to work. Rofl you have to laugh at idiots like that.

If i won, i would buy a house. then make a fund for all bills and shopping. then just go on holidays and stuff with the rest.

people say you need like 6mill to live well for life.. but i reckon with interest rates 2million lumper would get you sorted

easily, buy a few houses and set yourself up. Stick the rest in a high interest account. Sit back and live of the interest.

its probably easier said than done though. people have desires for real expensive things!

Think it just takes a bit of planning in the first few weeks. I would rather make sure I never have to work again, than paying the most expensive stuff.

You could buy 5 houses at 200k and the rent alone would be at least 1k per house a month.

The odd tenner here and there but nothing sizable. However, the landlord of a local pub scooped £750,000 quite a while back.
