Kitting out a gaming den ~ need suggestions

Tbh the z-5500s are one of the best surround sound sets you can buy for £200, i'm sure a £700 set would be miles better but it better be considering it's over three times the price.

If your budget is £200 and you want surround sound, you could make a far worse decision than buying z-5500s.
 
Having had a good look round and weighing my options re. bang for buck I've ordered a

Sony KDL40V4000 40" LCD with free* Sony BDPS350 Blu-Ray.

I know what you're all thinking but I got all this for £699.99 incl. delivery. The TV alone would have cost c£630 and I get a £250 blu-ray player which will do very nicely in the lounge along with the Wii. It will work with my harmoy remote and my mrs is very very happy. I was very close to getting a PS3 but this way I get blu-ray and the TV for almost £250 cheaper than I first thought I was going to. When there are some exclusives I really want to play (rpgs) I'll probably still get a PS3 but the time isn't right for me and 360 has enough games for the rest of the year to keep me happy. This way I also won't lose my 360 fan-boy moniker ;)

I've got a week to get the room ready and consider sound options.

Thanks for all the input even if though several of you did get a tad carried away...

Much more civilised in the home cinema section, far too many gamer boys over here ;)

Good choice on the tv it's a greatprice with the blu-ray player. Or just sell the blu-ray player and get a SP3 with the monies :D

Wow some people showed there true colours in this thread. Amazing, Just because someone gave a slightly high priced Spec for the room, people bad mouth him. Some people need to step away from their keyboards grab their testicles and tug hard.

Personally, I'm moving into a new place soon, It's a 2 bedroom, and I will be using the 2nd bedroom as a room similar to the OP.

I will be spending a fair bit on the room, Possibly around the 5k mark. And no I am not on a big wage, I just know how to save up.

I really can't believe some of the comments in here. Ridiculous.

Strange how when I bought a brand new bike rode it to work both tyres were slashed (in the workplace) You know I don't do that if someone else buys a brand new car.
