Really good video. Some good stuff shown, no release date unfortunatly.

Yeah that's a fantastic idea, I still can't work out why they didn't include this to begin with.

Looks nice, just hope they fix the playlists while playing games and being able to put a game disc in without autoplay kicking in while you're clearly navigating through the dash to do something else.

dreading it tbh. the dashboard used to be a delight now its just useless feature after useless feature and basically a bloated POS.

I'm fairly sure i've read somewhere that you can keep the blades if you prefer them.

It looks horrible when using a theme as they still haven't got rid of the big grey slab on the bottom - the theme only appears on the top half. It also looks terribly confusing. There are more menus and slides than ever before!

Is there any mention that you can copy your own videos to the internal hard drive yet? I thought they were implementing that feature but have seen nothing about it.

No, you can't keep the blades but the entire functionality that was available with the blades is now morphed into the Xbox Guide.

What do you mean "fix"? Can't you just turn autoplay off

The update itself isnt totally optional - he said the avatars and the hard drive install is.

& Dave is talking about something totally different...

The autoplay option is for switching the xbox on and off - Dave means when you insert a disc, it wont automatically play the game if you're busy navigating through menu's - which I agree is a total pita

The Avatars is a grey area, as I understand it future games will use them, so if you do not create one you will get a generic one by default.

Yeah I'd heard its optional. Thats good, it does look pretty sweet though!

So what exactly is the point of having a game installed if you can't play it without the disc?
What are the advantages to having this?

Looking forward to this, the avatars look a bit camp but maybe they will change or you can change the stance or whatever.
