Just bought a 4850 - recommend me some games please?

:p

p.s, my card just arrived - no time to mess with it - off to work in 10 mins :(

ah well, off tomorrow anyway

Make sure you bump the GPU fan speed up, unless I'm mistaken it's set pretty low by default and will just get a too hot.

how do i do this? the section of CCC to do with overclocking (i would presume its in there?) is greyed out for some reason.

ati tray tools?

got the same gfx card, completed DMC4 last week, very eye candy game.

GRID is very good value for money, hours of gameplay and is a decent racing game.

with a 4850, crysis can just about be ran at highest settings, but obviously depends on your CPU.

ps, most modern games don't need Pinnacle Game Profiler to map buttons as they are configured for the 360 pad.

rivatuner doesnt work with the 4000 series apparently.

ati tool wont work on vista x64 due to having an unsigned driver :(

edit

just tried the profile edit (changed the fan speed to 100% - it's a bad thing btw not having this in a case!) thing and my temps are now dropping. was 71C before and now down to 60, 50, and now 44C

a bit better - and this noise might be enough to finally get me to get this pc in it's case finally :p

I've just played through John Woo's Stranglehold again.
Well worth a play.
Uses the unreal engine so the graphics are good.
If you do play, start a game then goto the options & set the screen to LCD mode, the difference in colour depth is amazing.
