The Times are reporting that Man City have been taken over by the Abu Dhabi United Group for Development and Investment (ADUG).

Don't doubt that, but given The Times and Sky are part of the same company, I'd wait for a different organisation to confirm it.

I said that I didn't doubt it, i.e. I thought it was true.

I pointed out that saying it appeared in The Times and on SSN meant it must be true didn't mean it was because they are essentially the same reporting organisation.

I dont think its a full take over - more like putting cash in for day to day spending (wages etc)

They want to take full control, so they can get money from marketing and what not, but 'cos Thaksin still wants to remain at the club and help out they are going to make him honorary chairman.

Hes get £200m + and something to play with.
