Hi there.

I'm after advice on a) the best method of buying one (loan or finance from renault dealer). I'd be using my Saxo as part of the money towards one/deposit. Is the 182 FF with cup pack actually better than a cheaper 172 FF?

Also any 20 year olds on here with a 182 FF + Cup pack? Whats the insurance like!?

Thanks.

id say over a grand for insusrance. A loan is normally better if you must borrow the money, however, they may discount the car more if you take their finance, so that may work out cheaper, but try both.

Imo, the 182 is the better car, get a 172 and you will always be thinking 'I wish' every time you see an 8

Good choice of car though

I've managed to get a quote off Bell for £1300 F/C on a 182 FF+ Cup packs so thats pretty good.

I'd rather part ex my Saxo in than spend money on trying to get rid of it on Autotrader etc.

Anybody had any experiences with renault finance?

I'm looking to spend around £6k on a 182.

Personal loan would be preferred to a finance deal, it'll probably work out cheaper - plus you aren't restricted to buying from somewhere you have to get finance from, and you can look private too.

There are 2 cup packs available on the 182. One adds a rear spoiler and anthracite wheels, the other is the cup suspension pack. Recaro seats were an option, and these are desirable for a lot of people.
If you're looking at a 182, I'd definately try to get on with both cup packs.

This would naturally be better than a 172FF, but you can also pick up a 172FF for a lot less albeit an older car.
There's not a huge difference in performance between the 2, you probably wouldn't notice the extra 10hp. But the cup suspension is better than the 172FF, and with the spoiler/wheels it looks better too IMO. The interior is slightly revised, but not a great deal.

Edit: Are there any 182's for £6k at Renault dealers? I would have thought £7k+

I bought my 172 on 33k, it ticked over to 85k at the weekend, it's fine :)

Cup Packs mean you don't get a lot AFAIK + better suspension. (i think!)

Weight Saving = Faster Car

On a 182, cup packs on a normal model doesn't remove anything, but you get bigger rear spoiler, front splitter with the spoiler cup pack, and new suspension and wheels with the handling cup pack.

It's the actual 182/172 Cup models where you lose stuff.
