All New Summer 2008 Transfer Merry Go Round/Rumour Mill

He might do if both Spurs and and Man U don't want him.

Two great signing for Spurs, although I'm not convinced the new team, as it were, will have any time to "gell" before making any impact. This why I believe the window should close the day before the new season starts.

1433: Oh, and Mark Hughes is out playing golf. What on earth is going on?

1430: The latest from Man City - and I have to say that they are fast becoming the club of the day. BBC Sport understands that a £30m bid has indeed been made for Dimitar Berbatov, while the club are in talks with Valencia's David Villa and Stuttgart's Mario Gomez.

If City got Berbatov and Villa

Villa's just signed a new 5 year contract and Gomez is crap.

Although, I can definitely see City signed someone else before the end of the day. Not shy with the cash atm are they...

villa just signed a new contract extension at valencia. Can't see him going anywhere

Oh and Liverpool have signed some fella called Flora. Hope he spreads the passes around nicely.

Sky sports news are speaking / just spoke to a guy who works for the arab news site that broke the news and he said he spoke to the people yesterday and they want to make Man City into the next Chelsea but they have 10 times more money to do it with.

Obinna Deal Falls Through

Everton's application to secure a work permit for Nigerian international winger Victor Obinna has been rejected.

David Moyes and Bill Kenwright were part of a club contingent that attended an appeal hearing in London on Monday after the initial work permit for the 21-year-old Inter winger was rejected.

Ian Ross, Everton's Head of PR & External Affairs, confirmed: “Chairman Bill Kenwright, Manager David Moyes and Club Secretary David Harrison all attended the hearing in London this morning and despite making a strong case the appeal was rejected on the basis that the player fell some way short of the required criteria (of international experience).”
