4gb DDR available?

The rules of this forum don't allow us to mention OCUK competitors. Please read the FAQ.

Can you do 4x1GB? A quick internet search suggests that 2x2GB DDR kits are a wee bit expensive to say the least.

That ECC RAM won't work in your motherboard, you'll need some non-ECC RAM, which I've not seen any where. I think you're only option is 4 x 1GB, and that reduces the maximum FSB / overclock you can achieve on the older AMD systems, but you probably already new that :)

OcUK still seel 2GB kits of DDR and it's only £10 more than a typical 2GB DDR2 kit.
The price that was mentioned eariler in the thread was for ECC memory which is for servers.

You're not going to be able to retire by selling a couple of gigs DDR.

Aye very true, but tis the only 2x2gb stick I've seen and the sticks that Crashgate3 have, go for a lot more than the new sticks here. Twinx 2x1gb stick retail for about £80-90 new and about the same off the bay, maybe slightly less.

So still worth selling than throwing out.

ive just bought 2 x 1gb of ocz 3200 platinum and it cost me £50ish.
abit mad how much it cost for older memory but untill i can afford a whole new setup i stick with my 939 !!
