Uh Oh!.. Who said mondeos are reliable?

A couple of questions I would like to ask though.. Did all the mk3 mondeos come with an engine cover plate?

Because it makes me suspicious that there wasn't one on their car after having a look..

Also did the 2.0's have a different gear ratios?

I don't know the full story (overproduction, cancelled order?) but there was a large number of surplus 1.8 blacktop Zetecs that have found their way onto eBay etc. They are brand new crate engines from the production line and represent exceptional value if you need one.

im not totally sure myself, but when you look at the line up, you either get 1.6 for eco, or 2 for speed, the 1.8 was less revy like the 2litre but didnt have the HP to make up for it.

also both the mondeo and focus 1.8s never really had any "deals" on them ie you could save almost 1500 going with the 1.6, or spend 200 more and get the 2litre...

maybe that is why?
