How thick are some kids these days?

I was on a train once going from Waterloo to Southampton. There were a couple of teenage girls nearby. Shortly after leaving Waterloo, the guard announced: Those who need to get off at Micheldever, please move forward towards the front of the train as the platform is short there. Much to the other passengers' amusement, one of the girls asked the other: "Which way is the front of the train?" :D

Do you believe they are descended from the reptiles?

Or have "royal" genes.

Although how does that line thing work when so often kings/queens are killed and replaced with random others?

The symbolism speaks for itself in this statue :-

Pete doherty is an oldschool rockstar, I wish more rockstars still rocked, nowadays it's like "Oh my god I had a pint last night, I hope i don't get fat" **** off. in the old days rockstars used to take huge amounts of drugs, drink, smoke, drive fast cars, shag loose women. Then get on stage.

I think kids are being overprotected these days which is making them thick, being given handouts of money, having every meal cooked for them. I talk about a lot of kids, not all of them, things are different theres no doubt. But who cares, one day reality will punch them in the face.

What disgusts me is when kids don't know what vegetables are, or where meat comes from, or anything. That is damn right insanity to me, how can you not know?

It's actually a very valid question, especially if a train comes into a station travelling one direction and then goes back the way it came. A similar thing happened to me years ago and I had to make sure a good few times I hadn't misunderstood the directions.

no, he's a newschool smacked-up waste-of-space with no talent.

However much I dislike to do this, I have to admit I agree.

This may be a little harsh and perhaps I was this thick at the ages of 16-18.
My daughter started college yesterday on an induction and in the class were another 14 x 16 to 18 year olds.
They were having discussions in the class and Pete Doherty came up and after a couple of minutes it transpired that only 3 people in the class knew who he was.
The subject of the Queen being married came up and none of the other students knew if she was married or not :(
My daughter then told them that she's married to Prince Philip and one of them said "Oh yeah, he was in that film The Queen" :)
Several of them then thought that the film was the actual Queen in the film

Was I this thick at that age?

Put it this way: I posted a thread on this forum about meeting a Desert Rat, and at least half of the people who contributed to the thread had no idea what that meant.

So much for the British education system.
