Suitable pad for a G5

I am struggling too find the perfect gaming surface for my new G5. I am not happy with Boogie Bug AimB cloth pad that I got for the G5 as it just does not feel right when it comes to the glide and the mouse tracking is slightly erratic. I get the impression that it’s just a huge piece of neoprene wetsuit material that they are passing off as a gaming pad.

I also have one of the old everglides which are cast from a thick resin with particles impregnated into it. This pad is raised too much off the desk and the surface is too uneven and bumpy. I also have a SteelSeries 4D which was fine but due to ware has become shiny in the middle. The reason I replaced my MX518 was due to the slightly abrasive textured surfaces of the everglide and 4D which have worn down the feet.

This is what I am looking for:

Versatile for various mouse sensitivity settings as I change them all the time
Durable long lasting surface
something that will not wear down the mouse feet (non abrasive)
good tracking and glide

I am also curious as to what mouse settings would give you better accuracy and tracking in-game. Low mouse resolution (400dpi) or high resolution (2000dpi) with in-game sensitivity turned down?

I got the Roccat Sense Adrenaline Blue with my G5, I love it, glides like its on ice though grippy at the same time.

Looks cool too :p The blue goes with my G5(v2), G11 and Antec 900

I expect everyone will just recommend what they use :) Ill join in!

I use a razer exactmat.. it works for me :)

Well obviously you are gonna say what you use.. It would be silly to recommend something you dont have/havent used :p

I use a icemat with the same mouse. As long as you keep it clean its perfect. Meets everything you stated above. Also I use a dpi of 800 as I find 2000 is way to sensitive, but this may be what Im use to from using a MX 510 for a lot of years. Tend to play with an overall low sens.

Razer exact mat under my G7 carbon and love it. Nice and big too.

It glides soo well, and if you throw it across too fast, it might even leave the atmosphere ;)

I was using a Steelpad 4D but it didn't feel right no matter which side it was on so i switched to a Large Qpad CT, i should be moving on soon from the G5 though to a SS ikari laser or opticalas my G5 tracks badly.

I am leaning towards the icemat as the reviews are very good and reckon the glass surface will generate the least amount of wear on my mouse feet and it looks to be the most durable pad.

I thought I was going crazy as I reckon my G5 tracks worse than my previous mx518. I should have bought the razer but I was worried about durability.

I don't like the feel fo the G5 much anymore either :( i keep letting go and trying to adjust but its still uncomfortable for me.

If I can sell it without loosing too much I may try something else. I am finding the comfort OK but I don't like the scroll wheel and the tracking is not the best. When I move the mouse ever so slowly the cursor sometimes does not move right away - it's a bit erratic.
