Fast Car - £5000

because you would be hard pushed to find a JDM car without AC, even a 20 year old supermini. Only pov spec don't have auto climate, or super high performance models with delete options.

vr4 vote for me

2.5 twin turbo, loads of torque, active yaw control...

All in a great chassis and a stunning looking car imo

£5000 will get you a phase 2, maybe with recaros

While I'm far from an expert (which is why I don't generally stray into this part of the forum), I had a Volvo (i know) S40 t4 for a while a few years back. It was cheap (I think it was about £4k from memory) and it was a good fun car, pretty reliable and reasonably quick (0-60 is 7.3). Downsides were it drank petrol like it was going out of fasion (or it did the way I drove) but apart from that not much wrong. Of course it's not particularly cool but it was quick and cheap to insure...

How about a Leon Cupra R - like this one. 225bhp, plenty of tuning available as far as I'm aware. Also, very practical, if you need that sort of thing.

nice!

(parkers.co.uk) compareing it to the clio, very very similar in terms of performance and running costs, but the seat is a higher Tax band so expect to pay over £300 next year

A Leon Cupra R will cost more to run than the Clio, fortunately though the one posted isn't a Cupra R as they didn't appear until late 2002/2003 IIRC :)

I would have a 182 over the standard Leon Cupra though.
