Quick question: Hori Fighting Stick 3 (PS3)

i think rp2000 has one, wait for him to come in this thread.

joystick lets you do faster motion inputs once you are used to it (i think), its also much easier to do multiple button pressing as you naturally use like 3-4 fingers whilst on the pad you naturally use just your thumb and rely on button binds for multiple buttons.

i personally think pad is good enough but ive been wanting to buy a cheap joystick for a while now just to try it out :D

I want it for playing Tekken and KOF on my PS3, as decent as a pad is, there's no replacing the feel of a good arcade stick. (Oo-er!)

Mine is at my mates house!! (Where I play Tekken 3 mainly!!)

I'll e-mail him to measure it. He will think "wtf?" :D

Edit: He has stick, I have box, box says 3m. Sounds right, it is fairly long. Excellent for Tekken although it takes time to get used to the 8 face buttons as opposed to the traditional 6 button sticks (ala SF2). On 6 button sticks I used to map the extra 2 buttons on the right to LP+RP & LK+RK Now I have 2 more, I do the 2 to the left of the new stick to the 2 throws (LP+LK & RP+RK). Although most times i forget they are there and just use the old fashioned way to do em using 2 fingers. How much are you getting it for btw? I got mine when they were £17.99 on gay.com I know they are more now, but if it is cheap enough might get one as a gift for someone.

The arcade-style controller for PS3! / Arcade Style Joystic and Button Positions / Turbo Functions

# With the Hori Fighting Stick 3 you'll be able to play your favorite games with that great arcade feel! Speed up your combos or shooting with the Turbo functions for higher scores and better gamplay. Turbo function with hold & Switch buttons
# Slow, normal and fast Turbo settings
# Includes HOME button with the same functionality as the PS button on SIXAXIS controllers
# Lever and buttons are positioned to match the layout used in arcade machines
# USB connection; 3-meter cable length

Does it work with PS2 games? Its a steal at £27.99.

Yes, I have used it for SF2 Anthology. Although I am certain there is a slight input lag (either that or I am having problems re-adjusting to the various different speeds used across the anthology collection).

It works on the PC too I hear. Arcade in your own home. Win. :D

Never tried it. My last stick (The 360 DOA4 Hori Stick) worked on windows + MAME = many months of fun playing every version of SF2 :) and various other beat-em ups from yesteryear :D

Ta for the info!

I have some credit at a well known swapping shop, they're doing them for £25 2nd hand, but I'll have to get it sent down to London from one of their other stores, as there's none in the branches near me.

Yeah, I know which one you mean. 25 pounds to buy, 13 to sell, 18 for exchange. Want a cheap brand new one really, but it's not something I'm actively looking for/commited to getting.

I'm finding I have to use my four fingers instead of just my thumb for fighting games. So I guess I can see why a stick pad would be useful now.
