Im running FM2008 on Mac OSX 10.5.4, I would love to use the custom training / tactics files I was using on my XP version but they dont seem to work on the Mac, cant extract the files. Is their any way round this? I tried an extractor program but that did nothing.

What file type?

Training file is .tsh - I can get the .tac file of my tactic but have no idea which folder it goes in on the Mac setup of FM2008. Thanks for the help.

Its on the destination 'Mac HD' or whatever you've called it, rather than in your own personal section ie 'Adam' etc. I did use it on the Mac, but im now using Parallels and just booting into Windows to play it. Obviously not the best idea, but i prefer it.

Another big signing for me.

Just sold one of my right backs for £15.5m (Anyukov), to Barcelona. And saw Bojan had a release fee of £41.5m, and they wanted £90m. So got him for that. I had £2.6m wages, and was using £1.4m, so adjusted my balance to get £50m (already had £9m left). VERY expensive season for me.

Edit:

£170m spent.

£30.5m was money from last season (selected end of season transfer). £15.5m of the £30.5m was a sale of a striker.
£20.5m of the £140m remaining is from sales this season of Ambrosini and Anyukov.
So £120m spent, money given to me by AC.

Wow.

Want the game? Its definatly one to buy but you might be best just waiting for '09 to arrive. Should'nt be long now.

Hi guys, ive officially given up on the FM Live beta. a lil too buggy though i tried my best and found 3 new bugs :) But lame tactics like 2134 and 2233 work far too well really sapped it out of me. It was a decent idea but an MMO footy sim needs something to keep players interested. MMO's like WoW are so popular because your guild is like your familly etc share the highs and lows and all the jokes. with FM Live there's hardly anyone online, even the xtreme players complain, and im in the 'social' group. But i've only come accross 2 social players out of 18 ive played. (usually just

Anyways, i need an Italian team to play in Serie A that is kinda of the Reading standard (at the start of 08 not relegated lol). Mid bottom half of table.

/edit decided to bring back some glory days to Parma. + i love the parma ham so maybe they'll send me some as a gift ^_^ I wonder if Stoichkov is a coach ^_^

Hi there, playing Parma atm,

There is a rule in Italian league that i cant sign more than 1 non EU player per season. Im about to sign a russian.. since they are in the european champions league does he count has EU or non EU?

I signed Sheva as my non-eu, and after signing Nihat, Arshavin was cancelled due to being 2nd non-EU. Hope this helps?

I signed Shev as my non-EU too. Less than a week later he got Italian dual nationality - shame he couldn't have done it sooner!

Had to miss out on Akinfeev (for this season at least) due to this.

I think it's only 1 non-EU player from abroad that you can sign, there's no limit on the amount of on-EU players you can bring in from fellow Italian clubs - picked up Adriano from rivals Inter and the fans weren't too happy!

ok, bought this for a tenner the other day. (despite me slagging it off months ago, that was just over the price though :D)

did a quick start as Liverpool loaded with the 8.0.2 update + a European players update.

trying to play the 4 -2 - 3 -1 formation. Is this what Liverpool generally play at the moment? (although it is a narrower version? or is it more 4-5-1 they play?)

Torres up front. Gerrard and Babel and Benayoun/Kuyt being the 3 Attacking midfielders supplying.

When i watch the highlights though. Gerrard doesnt seem as involved in the play so much. Babel plays brilliantly for me though

Anyway manage to get Arshavin for 13.5 million. (a bargain it seems). Do i play him in the centre of the AM trio? or play him on the right? So itll be Babel, Gerrard and Arshavin.

Or do i move Gerrard into central midfield (along with Lucas, Masch and Alonso)

Been swapping between Torres and Voronin for the friendly matches and surprisingly Voronin has been doing better so i'll keep him for now.

Defence seems fine although not sure about Arbeloa on RB so looking for a replacement.

Bidding for Barry at the moment. However with the recent transfer shenanigans :D i guess there will be a player update coming out real soon so might just start all over again. The thing is, i dont have Keane at the moment and im not sure where he would play? So not sure i would want him in the new update.

The best one will be out late October sometime. ;) It is known as FM09 I believe. :p

Anyone remember my plan to have some kind of login page on my site to link to FM related downloads? Well I was going to get some PHP front going but I found out tonight that my webspace can have password protected folders. There is a general username and password to access it that I'll probably reserve for webmaster stuff. Then I can offer you all usernames and passwords so only us OcUK FMers can access the site. :)

There will be a proper HTML page with links on to all the downloads. The page and downloads will be in the same subfolder. People could email me links to stuff they want such as patches, demos, tactics, graphics etc and perhaps also links to sites and so on. I will then download the files, if I haven't already got them, upload them to my site and then you can download them.

I also was thinking about preparing a weekly email to everyone with access to the site with information about new files available. Or if not weekly soon after I've added new stuff.

So I propose that people email me on my trust info address with their OcUK usernames, their real names, email address (optional, if you want the email updates ) and what username they want on the site, their OcUK one to make it easy or another one, I will then create the username for you and assign you a password (so that if you forget it I can tell you what it is).

I'm also going to try and get some bandwidth measuring stuff going on so I can see who is downloading what. I want this to be for OcUK people only so my bandwidth doesn't get used up and I get charged extra. So if you do want an account please just use it yourself, don't give the username and password to anyone else. :) I am also guessing that stuff such as the Weegie updates I can't host as the Weegie staff alone want to host it. And anyway the Weegie stuff has its own site and download links so that wouldn't come under the "remit" of this site which is to host files that may not be universally available online for the forseeable future as links expire and so on.

And to keep syke happy I'll even host Mac patches and so on, but syke will have a very special username and password as a result. ;)

All this is a suggestion so if you can think of some changes to make to my proposals please let me know, either here or email me, but if you email me let me know who you are. :)

Very good idea, Marc.

I reckon we'll need some sort of general login, for people on OcUK who want to use it, and then specific logins for the more die-hard FM fans :p. So that they get priority in things, and that your bandwidth isn't mullered.

Could perhaps do a small private forum? Example, specific people have logins to see, others can only view, and not download unless they are from OcUK and email you permission for a guest login, that could work. Would mean no one browsing could just log in, and would have to know you, and be a member on here to access you.

Perhaps sections for Tactics, Prospects, Formations, Staff etc, so people can have an open discussion about it. Could even be blog based i guess.

I'd have a talk with your hoster too, make sure they will allow the access, and if it gets hit by various people on here (most likely when it comes out), that way they don't shut you down!

If i think of any other ideas ill give it another post.
