Winchester university students

Now I work as a Structural Engineer for an offshore company and all I get is "so you work on the rigs" it's a proper face palm moment, I just tell people I build things now.

KaHn
I get the same.
"You're an air traffic controller? Do you have the table tennis bats?"

:/

I didn't realise you had to be a student to get into the student's union! I've never been 'checked' as it were. Nice place though!

It depends on the union but most of the ones I've been to will check that you've got a student card or failing that you will probably need to be signed in by someone who is a member. It isn't all that hard to get chatting to someone outside in the queue and get signed in by them though usually, you just need to have some form of photo ID.

Although if you time it right or it isn't busy then you can 'sneak' in to some.

If its anything like Freshers week down here you won't get into anything without either NUS or Uni ID.

And why you would want to is beyond me - and I'm even starting uni myself this September.

The thought of a load of 18 year olds getting their first taste of freedom, cheap alcohol and drugs is enough to make me steer well, well clear.

Exactly. They're as mad as.... really mad people. But in a good way.

God forgive me for saying this but art students rock.

My wife was a student at Winchester School of Art. We met when we both worked in a pub in town.

And yes, they do rock! ;):D
Giggity-giggity!

Have a look at SUSU.org to see what's organised. Don't worry if it's a uni event, I'll sign you in as a guest ;)

Edit: if it's the School of Art that is.
