Hey guys/gals,

Im tempted to buy a G25 wheel for my racing games on the PC but am not to sure if ill make use of it. Has any1 here got one? And what do you think? Pro/Cons?

Thanks in advance,
Jack

there is another post about this, where someone bought it for sega rally. Try the search function. I believe he didn't like it, but it was an arcade game he was using it for. All others said the wheels are best for sims, and take a bit of practice!

Cheers il have a look, i had a good google but could only find big reviews for big bribed companis that say its the best thing since sliced bread ;)

they're great quality but I haven't used mine in 3 months because of the hassle of attaching it to my desk each time. Going on ebay pretty soon, as others have said, you need to be serious about your driving games to make it worth it

Do it, if your serious about race sims its a must have...if your a casual race simmer, get the black momo, as this would suit a casual racer better, and i have a G25 - Black Momo and the old school Red Momo, and most of my friends that are casual racers prefer the ease of the Black Momo compared to my G25.

which is actually modded with a full size momo racing wheel

I had a go of one and it was really good. But the pedals did seem a bit close for me also, maybe because I have big feet.

Most wheels, even pretty crap ones add a whole new dimension to racing games, but do usually end up gathering dust after a few weeks.

I use mine quite a lot, GTR2, Dirt, Grid, Race07, richard burns rally. Each game requires the logitech profiler to be set up. This can take quite a bit of patience and tweaking, but once set up, it's awesome. I was a bit reluctant to buy mine, and after i did i regretted it, but once you get it set up right and with a bit of practice, it's worth it in the end.

wish i could fine that video of the guy with 2 g25's in hydraulic cabinets that come out of the floor

It rox, really rox, and is great screwed to an ironing board.

unfortunately it takes a few mins to setup so might end up being neglected if you can't be bothered. Will crack on with mine again when i have more games as GT5p is all I have atm.

It's the best mainstream wheel you can get. Like others have said the pedal layout could be a little better and the gear stick feels a little flimsy but it's a great wheel and if you play a lot of sim games easily worth the money. There is also the Logitech Driving Force Pro, also a great wheel with 900 degrees rotation (but no clutch) and a little easier on the wallet :)

Got the G25 a few months ago and it really is a great bit of kit. Unfortunately mine has been in the box for a while now simply because i've only got 1 desk at the moment so obviously can't have the g25 setup all the time.

Got it mainly for GT5 and although my lap times didn't change much i was enjoying the game a lot more than just using the controller. I should be getting some extra room though soon and will be buying a playseat to use with the g25
