Do scary games scare you?

Ravenholm had me going to the bog every few mins :p

Condemned I could usually manage a chapter per night at best.

Always got horribly scared lpaying Splinter Cell strangely - inches from a guard with some form of automatic rifle just hoping he doesn't spot you in the corner really gets me :o

my parents desenstised me at a young age so i dont find many things scary lol, i dont think any game has truely scarred me bar the old little jump where i thought something was going to happen but it didnt for it to happend just around a corner :o

How do people get desenisitised to scarey thigns?... Do you get desensitised to funny things, or happy things, or is that not as cool?

you dont understand the term? the first time you see something is going to have the most impact on you whether its scary, funny or whatever. people get desensitised because they have seen it or something similar before so it loses its shock value... same way jokes aint as funny when you hear them a second time

The first silent Hill did, and The bit in the Police station interrogation room on Resident evil 2 where the licker jumps through the 1 way looking Mirror.

Those are the most memorable scary games/bits.

i dont agree you become desensitised from fear in general. Play the same game, Fine you'll obviously be less scared. But New games, New fears and jumpy bits, I don't agree you'd be desensitised, unless you knew what was ahead.

Oh, I though of another moment. The first time I played resident evil 4, When i had to go into the village for the first time. That was kinda eerie.

Agreed the 1st Silent Hll was really scary, the fog etc was just right to make you never quite know what was out there, couldn't play it by myself :D

The only bit that made me jump in Res evil one was the first corridor with the dogs that was cool but not scary. The Siren remake on PSN is one of the better, most atmospheric horror games ive played for a while, not scary just makes me jump a bit lol.

AVP scared me pooless, especially when i was the marine and loads of aliens would suddenly appear

Resident Evil 1 gave me a heart attack when the dogs jumped through the window for the 1st time, and those big spiders still scare me to this day :p

Silent Hill spooked the crap out of me when you'd be running through the fog and your radio would start crackling as you'd know an enemy was near but no idead what & where!

They also missed out Realms of the Haunting... nothing more scary than starting up a record in a random room to hear, babies crying and demons laughing on the record.

It's funny really Resident Evil i can pick and play with ease and not be frightened at all and thats number 1. I borrowed condemned off a friend though and that was just messed up and i never completed it. Yet that was a number 10.

My top 3 would be 3- Stalker:SOC (Try oblivion lost mod), 2- AVP 2 Marine Missions and 1- Doom 3 (Bought on release and have yet to complete it because it makes me jump too much :P).

Then again i can pretty much watch any film without batting a eye. I think the last film that really scared me was Robocop 2 when I was 7 years old. Then again that was mostly my fault for watching a film that young because it looked so real!
