is age of conan worth me buying?

There was big hipe about the game , the fighting combo cotroles failed badly in my opinion used played it till lvl 30 subscription ended uninstalled there is a lot of better games tbh
 
Don't get AoC, WoW is prolly the biggest and easiest to get into as people have said but you'll soon hit an elitist wall were people won't talking to you 'cos your not uber epix'ed, you'll also have no chance in completing in PvP.

Wait a couple of weeks and get in at ground level with Warhammer!

As a newcomer to the genre, I would suggest WoW as a starter for MMOs. From there you can branch out into the other MMOs, but as a starter MMO , WoW is probably the best
 
Gonna buck the trend here and say im still thorougly enjoying AoC. Currently on my 3rd toon lvling to 80. The feel of the game and the game lore are what are keeping me playing. Have always been a fan of the Conan stories and some of the questlines if you actually take the time to read the dialogue are great.

Its not as cartoony as WoW in that you cant dress your toon in huge purple horned armour with a gigantic phallic glowing staff strapped to you back, but i find that has helped put off most of the more immature players that have plagued recent MMOs meaning les "OMGWTFBBQ1one!!"

It was plagued with bugs and still has a number of things to be ironed out but they are being addressed. But as usual its never fast ennough to please everyone.

PvP overhaul is due in the next week or so which should make things much more interesting and is the main reason i have been lvling alts instead of raiding for decent loot.

My advice give it a try on a buddy key or if you can pick it up for a tenner then go for it. PLay it and see if you like it. Its a very marmite game (and its no WOW) you will either love it or hate it. If you dont like it then come back and try in 6 months once its had time to mature a bit :)

Had a lvl 80 ranger and 61 necro. I'd say if you want to try Aoc give it 6 months. There is seriously not much to do once you hit 80.

Nah end of the day if you still enjoy AOC thats down to you. Personally just not my cup of tea.
Its what a forum is for opinions and discussions. Maybe some flaming arguing too but they are a bonus :p
 
AoC has some nice features but it's in a pretty bad state. Maybe in another 6 months it'll be a good game but then again that's what people said 6 months ago... :(

My advice would be to buy Warhammer Online. Released in about 2 weeks I think it's going to be a great game.

Nope its not worth your money, if you must play a mmo get wow if u love PvE or War if ya into RVR
 
A lot of people quit it after the first month, but i must admit I did enjoy my first month playing. So i dont feel totally hard done by :)
 
aoc is a waste of money. I paid to beta test the game for them.. Awesome.

First month and i didnt pay them any subs so after getting to level 80 in a couple of weeks I found nothing to do and left.. The last 20 levels were only doable because I was playing a rigged class and could aoe grind while watching tv :)

Wouldn't say a "wowaholic" i just appreciate a good game when i see one.

And your making it out that being a Blizzard fan is a bad thing.

Pretty sure Starcraft and Diablo where not **** games ;)

I dont see why people have to be fanboys. Never seen the point in sideing with any company. Just stick to the games that are good who gives a toss who they are made by
 
i was allowed to use a friends account who had quit for a month, i made a demonologist mage to level 33 on a pvp server, it was fun, the graphics are beautiful, the most rewarding experience was doing instances/raids with other people in groups as well as hiding around and ganking anyone that came along. i got a bit bored towards the end of the month and didn't renew the subscription. now iv got cravings to play it again but i won't as im starting school and i know it will wreck my grades if i play it.
