Finally got round to buying the last few parts for my server, only thing left to do now is to replace my crappy Powerline network with proper Cat5e cabling + add a gigabit switch :D.

I have plans to put the pool table on rails and have it so that it can slide away into a hidden hatch in the wall, so we can have a proper cinema setup with lazyboys etc.

Also going to build a false wall around the plasma and tidy up everything around there to make everything look nice & clean. The 15" LCD sitting on the server is just temporary.

Any questions/comments welcome :)

I bought it elsewhere. That, along with the 270W mini-ITX 5.25" PSU are official accessories available to purchase specifically for that Thermaltake Mozart TX case :)

I’ve always liked the Mozart and if I had the cash would do something similar. How do you find the noise when watching movies? Also 500w is not a very big PSU for that setup does the 7" screen have its own power supply?

You should have a look at the DIY section over on AVforum there are some great false wall builds.
I would put a wall all the way across the back, sink in the Mozart, LCD and front surround speakers.:D

It isn't very loud at all, and all the case fans are running full speed at the moment. I don't think I need that much airflow in the case so I'll run them at 7v and see if I can get them to be virtually silent :)

Nah, everything is running off the PSU. It seems to be coping just fine. The graphics card is passively cooled and the cpu is running at stock volts, as is the memory. All my 1TB western digital drives are GreenPower so I'm assuming they use less power when not being accessed which also helps. The mini-itx system has its own power supply however.

Awesome, was looking for a site like that, thanks :)

Bit risky having all those screens so close to a pool table!
The way I play, balls go flying off the table in all directions at regular intervals.

Realy nice setup,

I want a room like that withough the pool table.

And i have always liked that case, just gota save up my pennies and pass my driving test, then save again for the computer case :P

Heh, you raise a good point :D

Though luckily when breaking we shoot in the opposite direction, and that plasma is mounted pretty high, the folding screen will be snugly closed up inside most of the time and the 15" won't even be in the room. Also the server will probably not be around there

that looks the nuts! is there any specifc use you have for it or is it bascially just to sit in the corner and looks pretty:p
It is the HTPC for the plasma for when the pool table slides into the wall and the room layout is set to "cinema mode", the little touchscreen will serve as an MP3 song selection Jukebox for when I have parties. As it will also be connected to the network it will serve as our media server (i.e. we can stream anything we want straight off it to anywhere on our network, including the living room downstairs). Also it will be the only pc on the network running a torrent client, using a shared network folder for remote .torrent file auto-loading, as well as being our seedbox, meaning we don't need to keep any of our own pc's running 24/7 for seeding purposes anymore.

The mini-itx pc in the case will serve as my linux shell, as well as a web server for both the internet and our intranet, plus act as our packet filtering hardware firewall.

*phew* That was a mouthful :p

Edit: Plus the main reason for having the HTPC system separate from the mini-itx system is so that I can keep the web server/firewall running 24/7 while being able to do anything I want to the other PC without worrying about one interfering with the other
