Anyone here own a Golf Bluemotion?

Match isn't a Bluemotion though, Bluemotion is a car in its own right. If you work for BMW you can use the BMW Staff car ownership scheme meaning owning a 118d will be considerably cheaper than buying a new Golf.

I work 4 a dealer,not GB

This thread made me die a little inside.

14K would have bought cars so much better, with no effort.

Fair enough, I assumed it was like the Polo where you got Bluemotion 1 or 2.

I'll leave reading about fundamentally terrible cars to you, if its all the same.

If you work for a BMW dealer you could source a BMW 118d for £14k. It might be brand spanking new but it'll be reasonably new.

Turbo blew at 10,000 miles on my Mk5 TDI too. Less than a year old.

The VW tec at my local garage said the 1.9 TDI started having a lot of turbo failures when they had to change the design to make it Euro 4 or 5 (can't remember which one) compliant it retricted airflow which made the turbo work harder. This is also the same reason the Fabia vRS start smoking a lot and having flat spots low down, there is a hole somewhere in the intake that you can make bigger to resolve all the problems but increases the emissons. (not got a clue if it is actually true)

The engine dates back to the early 90s VW really need to drop it now and replace it with a new common rail 1.6 TDI like like the rest of the 100bhp ish diesels.

True, but it would be crap spec, and a low spec 118d is terrible. And we always have a bm at home.Carn't get two recovery trucks up our drive:p

Good luck with what you get but if you still have a consideration/cancellation period in effect, I would definitely take a step back if I were you. You can do a lot better for the money :)

We're not having a dig at you, just trying to help you maximise your purchasing power :D If I hadn't paid attention to these forums I'd have ended up with a dodgy old Escort ;) I then stubbornly insisted on a Golf, but at least I got a half decent one that isn't insufferable :p

It would only be as terrible as the awful, awful Golf Bluemotion. You get sod all in those other than AC and electric windows. And seats. You might even get a steering wheel now as well.

You sound like you have driven both??
