Those were the days:D

My 1st PC was a 486DX33Mhz, 4MB Ram, 162MB HD, 3.5" FDD & colour monitor.

Cost £1200 and didn't have a soundcard, graphics card, network in fact it nowt in the way of peripherals, except a mouse & keyboard.

I was in awe of those with the 486 DX4 running at a massive 100Mhz ;-)

OS was windows 3.1 :-)

LOL

was it cheap because Win98 was out?
We paid about just over £1k for our 166 but i think that was in '96

only 10 years have passed since then :)

in 1996 ,I bought a Pentium 100, complete with monitor Samtron crt 14" and CD player, for 900 euros
but it was a OEM PC ( without brand ) and i made a trip of 70kms in order to reach to the shop who had the better price in north of Portugal
OS Windows 95:D

LOL Did you snip the computer OEM or did the Nazi police here do it? :D

Doh, I just copied and pasted the e-mail without checking it for the competitor name :)

I think I had the quote because I was comparing it to a home built system I was making for someone.

That's cheap for a P166, must have been clearance spec I guess.

I was working for the Purple shirts (part time student job) in 1998 and I doubt we had any PC packages in the shop for under £800 at the time.

yeh first family pc we got was just when windows 95 came out, cost around 1500. we were in awe at what windows 95 could do, this thing was simply amazing. man do times change fast.
