Moth(er) of god!

late at night a couple of weeks back me and my mate stumbled across this moth outside the pub...it had a red body and spots on its wings, more butterfly type patterns. Up here in north east scotland moth always tend to be small/medium and brown so something like this was a strange sight...
 
I was in Nepal 3 years ago and we were having breakfast inside this house with a distant view of Mt. Everest and outside on the windowsill was a MASSIVE moth, I took photos etc. went back inside and this bird of prey swooped down and snatched the moth away, talk about jump, I spilled tea everywhere ...

Edit: found it, not quite as big as the OP but it did get killed by a bird :P

Absolute worst ******* thing about moths is the fact they have a body built from dust and made of puss. They are constantly asking to be elimated by flying into your face/eyes/nipples/ears and when you do finally extinguish them with the correct tool (rolled up PC Zone f.t.w) they leave a skidmark of dust and pile of rank cheesy puss guts.
